Autocar Truck – Where Hauling comes with Style

Autocar Company started in 1899 was initially into manufacturing of automobiles and after 18 years from 1907 the company started manufacturing trucks, today these trucks are popularly known as Autocar Trucks. The company was manufacturing highly capable vehicles and were doing well that’s why many other auto manufacturers had great interest in the company.

Autocar Company aborted the production of cars in 1912 and from then focused only on manufacturing trucks.

The auto industry in the US was like the big sea in the US, where larger fish were eating the smaller once. The Autocar Company was taken over by White Motor Company in 1953, and eventually the White was taken over by bigger player Volvo Trucks in 1980.

In order to keep the Autocar Truck brand alive, Volvo used the company as their division, until they made a deal with Grand Vehicle Works Holdings in 2001.

Autocar Truck is still on sale as a part of GVWH.

Autocar Truck majors in manufacturing Refuse Trucks. Under the new management the company has expanded its product line expanding to yard tractors, refuse trucks and other vocational trucks.

Autocar Acm64 and Autocar at64f were two of the companies product manufactured under the management of Volvo Trucks.

The Autocar Acm64 was manufactured in 1880’s and was used as heavy duty dump trucks. The truck is offered for sale with used truck dealers. Buying this 1988 manufactured truck, gets a Volvo engine as the Autocar was a subsidiary of Volvo from 1980.

Very less information is available about the truck the specification for the Autocar Acm64 is almost unknown. The truck was with Volvo T-Ride engine that generated 300 horsepower taken to the wheels trough 9 speed transmission. Being a heavy duty dump truck, the front axles had 20,000 lb capacity and the rear capacity expanded to 46,000 lb.

The truck is offered for sale s at $7,000 which is think is worth because the truck still today has capabilities that can match to newly built truck.

Autocar At64f was manufactured in 1980’s was a large truck and today it is on the top list of collectables among the enthusiasts. Many of these trucks are imitated to look like the lead truck used in the move Transformers. Autocar At64f 1985 made is put to sale for $18,500. the truck is highly capable of hauling any thing that is heavy which includes wood logs, industrial material or just heavy cattle’s.

The truck has a Caterpillar engine that generates 400 horsepower and is mated to 13 speed transmission. The suspension was Hendrickson built. Being heavy and solid, Autocar At64f front suspension capacity was 14,600 lb and that capacity expanded to 58,000 lb on the rear.
